Donald Trump Jr.: Bally’s Paid $60 Million to Lease Casino Land

Bally’s Corporation paid the Trump Organization $60 million for the right to lease land on the former Trump Golf Links Ferry Point in New York, on which Bally’s is bidding to place one of New York’s authorized downstate casinos, according to testimony given by Donald Trump Jr. in the civil fraud case involving his father’s company.

The terms of the lease deal had not been made public when the casino bid was announced earlier this year. Trump Jr. was testifying on the Trump Organization’s business dealings in the trial when he disclosed the terms of the lease, noting that he was not sure that the $60 million turned a profit due to “a lot of costs” associated with the public golf course over the years.

According to the Associated Press, the Trump Organization managed the 18-hole Bronx course, which is visible from the Whitestone Bridge and boasts views of the Manhattan skyline, from 2015 until this year. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course was built on a former landfill by the city for more than $120 million. It’s now called Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point.
