DoubleU Games VP Is Top Earner

DoubleU Games Vice President Park Shin-jeong was the highest earning executive in South Korea in 2017. Park achieved the top spot from selling 370,000 shares for US$20.4 million.

Park Shin-jeong, vice president of South Korea’s DoubleU Games Co. Ltd. was the top-earning executive in the country last year, according to data from South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service cited by news outlet JoonAng Daily.

In 2017, DoubleU paid US$825 million to acquire International Game Technology’s social casino unit, Double Down Interactive LLC. Park made the top spot not from his regular compensation but from selling 373,347 shares he received as stock options in April. His take was KRW23 billion (US$20.4 million), added to base salary and bonuses amounting to KRW525 million (US$470,000).

Another DoubleU Games senior executive ranked among the top five best-compensated executives in the six months to June 30, reported GGRAsia. Kim Hyung-jin, an executive board member and head of DoubleU Games’ development center, earned KRW8 billion during the reporting period, following a KRW7.69 billion stock option sale.
