Downstream Presents Ma-Ko-Sha Coffee

Ma-Ko-Sha coffee now is being served at Downstream Casino in Quapaw, Oklahoma. It's a new variety of the casino's O-Gah-Pah Coffee brand, which is roasted, blended and served at Quapaw's hotels, restaurants and espresso bar. Chief Roaster Alberto Baez said high-bodied Ma-Ko-Sha is "like more chocolate aroma" with an earthy, citrus aftertaste.

Downstream Casino in Quapaw, Oklahoma recently introduced Ma-Ko-Sha coffee, a new variety of its O-Gah-Pah brand, which is roasted, blended and served at the facility. Chief Roaster Alberto Baez said, “The profile of the Ma-Ko-Sha blend is like more chocolate aroma. The aftertaste is more earthy, citrus and high-bodied coffee.” Its flavor is affected by “The rain, the temperature, how it rains in the town,” Baex noted, adding, “The Brazil, Columbia, and Sumatra, they are roasted separately, all the beans, and then blended.”

Ma-Ko-Sha and other O-Gah-Pah coffee are served at Downstream’s hotels, restaurants and espresso bar. Coffee cart service will start soon. Altogether more than 2 million cups of coffee are served annually at Quapaw. In addition, Ma-Ko-Sha Coffee beans can be purchased at the gift shop for home brewing.

Jose Gomez of Quapaw’s Red Oak Steakhouse stated, “For people that have drank coffee for more than 20 years, it’s the same brand. We don’t want them to leave it. We just want them to experience something different.” Comparing the new coffee to win, he noted, “When we look at wine, there’s a lot of variety, and there’s options out there.”
