Downtown Grand Appoints New Execs

The Downtown Grand in Las Vegas, owned by CIM Group, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment firm and operated by Las Vegas’ Fifth Street Gaming, has installed a slate of new executives.

The Downtown Grand resort in Las Vegas has added a quartet of new executives, including a new chief financial officer.

Marie Ramsey was hired as CFO; Jeffrey Rabinowitz joined as casino financial analyst; Ken Mumby was named director of table games; and Anthony Bender was appointed director of casino marketing. They will occupy four new positions at the Las Vegas resort, spokeswoman Marina Nicola said.

Before joining Downtown Grand, Ramsey was chief financial officer at the Tropicana and vice president of finance at MGM Grand. She also held senior financial jobs at New York-New York and at Station Casinos.

Rabinowitz was a financial analyst with Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover. He also was a marketing and analyst intern in summer 2012 at the Venetian. Prior to that, he was an attorney for three years with Stewart Law Firm in Henderson.

Mumby has 35 years of industry experience, and most recently was vice president of casino operations for Planet Hollywood.

Bender will be in charge of promotions, giveaways and other advertising and marketing efforts at the Downtown Grand. He has held management roles at the Riviera and at Stratosphere owner American Casino & Entertainment Properties.

The 634-room Downtown Grand, formerly the Lady Luck, opened in October 2013.
