Main Street Station, a Boyd Gaming property in Downtown Las Vegas, will reopen in September after being closed for 18 months due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The casino and hotel will return to round-the-clock operations at 6 a.m. on September 8, according to a release.
“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of Main Street Station and to welcome back our team members and guests who have been eagerly awaiting our return,” Steve Thompson, Boyd Gaming’s executive vice president of operations, said in a statement. “We are counting the days until September 8, when Boyd Gaming’s trifecta of Downtown Las Vegas properties—California, Fremont and Main Street Station—will once again be fully open and ready to welcome our guests.”
With more than 400 hotel rooms and a 27,000-square-foot casino, Main Street Station has been closed since March 2020. That’s when Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered casinos temporarily closed to stem the rise of the virus.
Sisolak allowed casinos to start reopening June 4, 2020, and while most Las Vegas resorts began operating again, a handful remained shuttered, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
