If you had to bet on which mobile sports operator ranks number one, you’d be wise to wager on FanDue,l with DraftKings to show and BetMGM to place. But if you bet on FanDuel to win March in Massachusetts, you’d walk away empty handed in a straight bet.
DraftKings emerged victorious in the shortened month—March went mobile on March 10, according to PlayMA.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission released online handle and revenue totals for the month on April 18. The six online sportsbooks brought in a handle of $548.1 million, with DraftKings at the top with 47 percent of the total at $257.6 million. FanDuel took in $181.1 million, or 33 percent of the market.
Alas, FanDuel reported a higher revenue than DraftKings—$16 million vs. $15.6 million—thanks to a higher revenue hold percentage.
And not surprisingly, the place book belongs to BetMGM, with a reported $45.3 million in handle or 8.3 percent of the market.
Barstool Sportsbook grabbed fourth place $29.5 million in handle (5.4 percent of the market); WynnBET finished in fifth place $18.2 million (3.3 percent.); Caesars Sportsbook surprisingly finished last with $16.4 million in handle ( or 3 percent of the market).
