No contracts signed
A Norwegian company in talks to develop a floating casino in the waters off Macau says it never signed a final contract for the project and terminated its association with its partner last November.
The Macau News Agency reports that Brova Idea AS, which specializes in “the development of floatable structures,” said it had been approached to develop the Dragon Pearl Casino Hotel by blockchain provider Dragon Corp.
In 2017 Dragon Corp. CEO Chakrit Ahmad pledged to finance the development through a $500 million initial coin offering. Shortly thereafter, the Macau government said it was unaware of the company or its relation to the local gaming market.
Brova Idea Chairman Milo Andric said he pulled the plug on the venture after making a presentation to the company in Hong Kong last September.
“They asked me to sign a contract during the event on stage but I refused, saying I could only sign a contract after seeing and reading it. We signed a pro forma contract on the stage. Afterwards, they said they would provide the final contract, but it never materialized,” Andric told MNA.
