The gaming authorities of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands have reached a “cooperation” memorandum of understanding to work together to “better support their respective supervisory tasks” by sharing information and regulatory best practices on enforcement and licensing.
The joint announcement by Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) and the U.K. Gambling Commission (UKGC) will involve sharing common goals in fighting international crime, protecting consumers and fighting problem gambling said KSA Chairman Rene Jansen.
He added, “A clear signal is also given to providers of games of chance that cooperation is taking place at an international level. Online games of chance move across borders. That is why it is important for supervisors to work together.”
KSA has formed similar MOUs with France’s Autorité Nationale des Jeux or ANJ, the Malta Gaming Authority, Sweden’s Gambling Inspectorate and the Belgium Gambling Commission.
