Game and system supplier Eclipse Gaming announced two appointments last week that could transform the company into a major supplier to the gaming industry.
Orrin Edidin has been named the president of the company. Edidin joined WMS when it was a small arcade company, helping to build it into one of the major slot manufacturers in gaming until it was acquired by Bally Technologies, and later Scientific Games.
Eclipse operates mostly in the Native American markets and expect Edidin to give them more of a foothold in the commercial and international markets.
“Orrin is highly respected throughout the gaming community and his decision to join our growing executive team is an important milestone in Eclipse’s journey,” Eclipse CEO Tim Minard said in a statement. “Orrin’s wealth of experience and impressive track record of strategic, operational and commercial accomplishments will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate our growth.”
Minard also announced that gaming industry veteran Steven Slotwinski has joined the company as chief technology officer.
Slotwinski has extensive experience directing the creation of successful games for land-based and social casinos. Leading the company’s product strategy, he will direct new product development and innovation, performance optimization and portfolio growth to support key gaming industry trends.
“Steven brings tremendous experience and leadership to Eclipse, and we are thrilled that he has joined our team,” said Minard. “His product vision and track record of launching highly successful games, combined with his strong understanding of our customers’ needs, will be instrumental in driving the success of our growing portfolio and market share.”
Slotwinski most recently was chief operating officer of Monarch Gaming Labs, a subsidiary of NHN Entertainment, where he was responsible for all operations of the company including strategic initiatives, organizational restructuring, and expansion of the company’s casino gaming library for the social, online and crypto markets, while significantly reducing operating expenses.
Prior to Monarch, Slotwinski was a longtime game developer for Scientific Games/WMS Gaming, culminating in his role as senior producer responsible for some of the company’s most successful games.
“I’m excited to join the team of talented people at Eclipse,” Slotwinski said. “The opportunity to drive innovative solutions for our customers during this time of evolution is an exciting and welcoming challenge for me. I look forward to working with the team to increase momentum and help shape the future for Eclipse.”
