A disgruntled gambler ejected from a Las Vegas casino retaliated by intentionally crashing her motorhome into the property, police say.
Fifty-year-old Jennifer Stitt, was ordered to vacate the property just before 6 a.m. on October 25. She climbed into her Winnebago and drove it into the glass double doors of the building, striking a 66-year-old custodial worker in her path.
The worker “looked up and said, ‘you’re hitting me!” said North Las Vegas Police spokesman Eric Leavitt. “And she continued to accelerate at him, actually running him over. She knew fully well what she was doing.”
Stitt been charged with attempted murder and is being held on $100,000 bail. The custodian remains in critical condition.
Las Vegas casino security director Douglas Florence told FOX5 Vegas that security procedures should be reviewed in light of the incident. “There’s all these reasons why we ask someone to leave, so I think it’s important to understand how we do it,” Florence said. “Sometimes it impacts a person’s decision on how hostile they might be in saying they want to retaliate. What is the cost of reducing the tragic injuries or the death of a customer or an employee?
“Now that we’ve seen this happen, who’s to say it’s not going to happen again?”
