Regional casino operator Eldorado Resorts announced it has promoted Steve Callender to senior vice president of the company’s Eastern casino operations.
Callender was formerly general manager of Tropicana Atlantic City, which Reno-based Eldorado acquired as part of its $1.8 billion purchase of seven-casino Tropicana Entertainment. The deal was made in conjunction with the real estate investment trust Gaming and Leisure Properties.
Jason Gregorec, most recently the CEO of Greektown in Detroit, will succeed Callender as Tropicana Atlantic City’s general manager.
Callender, who has 40 years of gaming experience in Atlantic City, has been with Tropicana Atlantic City in various roles since 2010. In his new position, he will have operational responsibility for Tropicana Atlantic City, Eldorado Scioto Downs in Ohio and Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in West Virginia.
Gregorec has 25 years of experience in the gaming industry. In addition to Greektown, he has held executive positions with Tropicana Entertainment, Station Casinos, Majestic Star Casinos and Trump Casinos.
“Steve and Jason have extensive, proven gaming industry careers and deep experience that are an excellent match with their new positions and Eldorado’s expanded operating base,” Eldorado President and Chief Operating Officer Anthony Carano said in a statement.
Eldorado Resorts operates 27 casinos in 13 states.
