Eldorado Resorts Opens Ohio Microbrewery

The popular Brew Brothers microbrewery and restaurant at the Eldorado Resort Casino in Reno soon will have a second location at Scioto Downs Racino in Columbus, Ohio. Both operations are owned by Eldorado Resorts Inc., which acquired Scioto Downs in last year's merger with MTR Gaming Group.

Eldorado Resorts Inc. officials recently announced it will open a Brew Brothers microbrewery and restaurant at Scioto Downs Racino in Columbus, Ohio before the end of the year. The .9 million operation will be similar to the 15-year-old Brew Brothers flagship operation at the Eldorado Resort Casino in Reno and will be part of a .5 million expansion at Scioto Downs.

The Brew Brothers inside Scioto Downs will feature a 44 foot long bar with a fire pit and outdoor beer garden, high-definition TVs and a fully equipped stage for live music and DJs.

Eldorado Resorts acquired Scioto Downs in last year’s merger with MTR Gaming Group, resulting in an Eldorado presence in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Gary Carano, chairman/chief executive officer of Eldorado Resorts, said, “Scioto Downs has a rich history of harness racing, and since the opening of our gaming facility in June 2012, guests in the greater Columbus market have reacted favorably to our exciting blend of racing and gaming entertainment amenities.”

Last year’s merger with MTR Gaming gave Eldorado Resorts six gaming properties with a total of 3,300 hotel rooms, 280 gaming tables, 32 restaurants and 10,000 slot machines and video games. The properties are the Eldorado in Reno and Eldorado in Shreveport, Louisiana.; the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort in New Cumberland, West Virginia; Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, Pennsylvania; and Scioto Downs, along with a 50 percent ownership in the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in downtown Reno.
