Elite Breaks Ground on Iowa Expansion

Ground was broken recently for a hotel and casino expansion at the Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa. Elite Casino Resorts Chief Executive Officer Dan Kehl said, “Today’s a big day for us as we embark on the beginning of a $10 million investment into the property.” Kehl said $8.5 million will go toward the new hotel addition and $1.5 million will go toward the new sportsbook and center stage.

Scheduled to open by Memorial Day 2020, the 4-story hotel addition will offer 66 new rooms, bringing the total to 163. Kehl added a skywalk will connect the hotel addition and main casino building. The number of RV campsites also will double. “I think it’ll raise the energy level when you have that many more guests here at the resort,” Kehl said.

A temporary sportsbook opened several weeks ago but Kehl said, “I t’s full every weekend. It’s been going real well. We’re just getting things rolling and getting all the kinks worked out, but the reaction from the customers has been positive.”
