Enjoy Casino in Punta del Este in Uruguay is for sale by its owner, the Chile-based Enjoy, Yogonet reported July 31. The property has experienced sustained losses in Q1 of 2023, which likely led to the decision to sell.
Overseeing the sale is Asset Chile, an investment firm, which has begun the process by contacting local and international investors.
No price has been set, however Enjoy reportedly invested $139 million in 2013 to acquire 45 percent of the casino and paid $189 million for the rest in 2017, so it will certainly try to get some of that investment back.
After the 2017 purchase Enjoy unsuccessfully attempted a merger with Dream, and then proposed a financial reorganization plan to make the property profitable again. Enjoy has not ruled out a partnership or sale of assets as part of its reorganization of assets.
