The European Commission has approved a plan for Denmark to open up online bingo and horse race betting by allowing private operators to apply for state licenses.
The move would end Danske Spil’s monopoly on offering online bingo and horse race betting in Denmark. The new law will liberalize betting on horse, dog and pigeon racing both online and at land-based operations.
