Executives Added to Washington Casino

As the Cowlitz Tribe moves forward to open its $500 million ilani Casino Resort near La Center, Washington, it has named two new executives. They are Jeffrey Walker and Al Muma.

Two more executives have been announced for the Cowlitz Tribe’s 0 million ilani Casino Resort, which is scheduled to open on April 17, 2017.

The casino has named Jeffrey Walker as vice president for gaming and Al Muma as vice president of human resources. Both have worked at “some of the top properties in the country,” according to Kara Fox-LaRose, general manager and president of the casino.

Each executive has more than ten years in the industry. Muma, who previously worked at Snoqualmie Casino in Snoqualmie, Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Minnesota and Little River Casino in Michigan, will be in charge of hiring and structuring the facility’s internal infrastructure. Walker, who was previously vice president of table games at the Mohegan Sun Pocono, will be in charge of gaming, which includes 2,500 slots and 80 gaming tables.

The casino will have 15 eateries, taverns and retail operations.

The 100,000 square foot casino is being built on 152 acres, near La Center and just off of Interstate 15 that was put into trust by the Bureau of Indian Affairs after dodging several legal challenges. The Oregon-based Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde plan to take their challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court.
