Fanatics Sportsbook Opens at Guardians Cleveland Stadium

If the Cleveland Guardians catch fire in September and surpass the Minnesota Twins to win the AL Central, fans can celebrate by betting at the new Fanatics Sportsbook just outside the right field gate at the intersection of Larry Doby Way and East 9th Street at Progressive Field.

Could be a hard climb for the team, but regardless, the Fanatics Sportsbook is there to collect bets on the Guardians and any other teams.

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, a subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings, has unveiled its first retail sportsbook. The parent company runs a very successful fan merchandise firm, according to Yogonet Gaming News.

“We’re very excited to partner with Fanatics Betting and Gaming to bring a retail sportsbook location, their first in Major League Baseball, outside Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland,” said Guardians Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships Ted Baugh.

Former Cleveland pitcher Paul Shuey placed the ceremonial first bet, wagering $20 on his alma mater, the University of North Carolina, to beat  South Carolina on September 2 to open the college football season.

Ari Borod, chief business officer of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, said the venue complements the online sports betting app.

“This ushers in a brand new sports betting experience with the most rewarding online sportsbook in Ohio, allowing customers to earn up to 5 percent back in FanCash on every bet,” Borod said.

The app offers seamless registration, straightforward betting, transparent withdrawals, a search function, and a curated Discover page highlighting the most significant sports and bets. So says Fanatics.

The Fanatics Sportsbook at Progressive Field includes almost 600 square feet of space, with two betting windows, four self-service betting kiosks, and seven TV monitors.

Entrance does not require a ticket to the game although the team would certainly appreciate it if you purchased one.

Staff at the Fanatics Sportsbook underwent responsible wagering training and provided support services when necessary.

The sportsbook will be open on weekdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. On game days, the sportsbook will open two hours before the first pitch and remain available until the final play.
