The resignation and rapid departure of FanDuel CEO Matt King has elevated company President Amy Howe to the role of interim CEO.
King’s departure has delayed a potential IPO by FanDuel, a division of Flutter Entertainment. “With FanDuel well positioned for the next chapter of its growth and always an entrepreneur at heart, now is the time for me to take on new opportunities as the next step in my career,” King said at the time of his resignation.
Flutter CEO Peter Jackson said the company would launch a search process but in the meantime, Howe will be in charge.
“Matt leaves the business in a position of strength and we wish him well for the future. The appointment of Amy, working alongside the wider FanDuel leadership team, will support the key focus on growing the business and retaining our No 1 position in the U.S. market.”
Howe joined FanDuel Group in February 2021. She previously served as global chief operating officer of Ticketmaster for Live Nation Entertainment.
