FanDuel Passes $1 Billion In New York Mobile Sports Revenue

FanDuel reached a new milestone in New York. The company became the first mobile operator to hit $1 billion in sports betting revenue in the state. FanDuel reached that plateau in 73 weeks from the January 8, 2022 launch date.

In each of the 16 months since the launch of online betting, FanDuel has ranked first in handle for the New York market.

New York also recorded the top 11 all-time national monthly handle totals, as well as 13 of the 16 times when monthly gross operator revenue surpassed $100 million.

The last losing week for FanDuel came on February 13, 2022, which coincided with Super Bowl LVI and promotional offers.

So far, FanDuel has had just three losing weeks—all within the first six weeks of operation in New York—and is tied with Caesars and BetMGM for second-fewest. DraftKings has never had a losing week.

FanDuel reached a weekly high at $26.6 million in gross revenue for the week ending January 22 when the Bills and Giants both lost division round games, according to Sports Handle.

FanDuel reports a hold near 10.4 percent in New York—almost 50 percent above the industry standard of 7 percent and 2.4 percentage points above DraftKings, which is second at 7.9 percent. It reached double digits 19 of the last 22 weeks.
