FanDuel will open an office in Atlanta to handle product development and technology operations. The $15 million-plus investment will result in 900 new jobs.
With 12 million customers, FanDuel ranks as the top online sports betting and gambling company in the U.S., according to the Associated Press. Their services are in 10 states, but not Georgia which has yet to approve sports betting. The Atlanta office joins FanDuel’s locations in New York, Los Angeles and Orlando, all states without mobile sports wagering yet.
The company has yet to decide where it will locate in Atlanta or what kind of assistance it will seek from various government agencies. FanDuel will tap local colleges to train and recruit employees as well as provide workshops and mentorships to reach out to local residents.
