Fantasy Football Fans Greet Expert

Matthew Berry, ESPN senior fantasy sports analyst, was greeted by more than 400 fans at the FireKeepers Casino Fantasy Football Event in Battle Creek, Michigan, who paid $10 each to hear Berry's anecdotes and advice. More than 56.8 million people play fantasy sports in the U.S. and Canada.

Recently 400 fans—including males and females—paid each to hear ESPN Senior Fantasy Sports Analyst Matthew Berry at the FireKeepers Casino Fantasy Football Event in Battle Creek, Michigan. They are among the 56.8 million people who play fantasy sports in the U.S. and Canada, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association.

Berry joined ESPN in 2007 now hosts ESPN.com’s live Sunday morning Fantasy Football program, “Fantasy Football Now,” and appears on ESPN and radio specials. He also hosts a successfully fantasy football podcast. Berry has been nominated for 51 Fantasy Sports Writers Awards nominations and won 12.

Berry advised the crowd, “When you play fantasy football, if you are playing the odds, playing for what is most likely to happen, more often than not you will win. If you go through every single player, figure out what’s most likely to happen, and you do that, you won’t win every time, but you will win more often than not. That’s what we are going for when we are talking fantasy football like we are today.”

Berry also autographed copies of his national best-selling book, Fantasy Life: The Outrageous, Uplifting and Heartbreaking World of Fantasy Sports from the Guy Who’s Lived It.
