The 0 million Golden Nugget Lake Charles in Louisiana will open soon, and owner Tilman Fertitta said, “It better be real full. With a 0 million investment, you better have a lot of people out there. Just look around, you know, it’s got our touch on it. We like to finish everything off. It is a big number but that is just what I do.”
Fertitta’s fifth gaming property, the Golden Nugget Lake Charles is just a two-hour drive from Houston. “To have it next to Houston, Texas which is our home, just makes it really special,” Fertitta said. He noted 50,000 of the 60,000 players who already have signed up for the players club are from Texas.
Twice the size of the Golden Nugget Biloxi, Golden Nugget Lake Charles will offer 70 table games, 1,600 brand new slot machines and a state-of-the-art poker room. “You have the newest slot machines, the latest in technology of everything is in this casino. We are lucky because we are opening up right now,” Fertitta said.
Other amenities include luxury rooms and suites, a world-class spa, five bars and lounges, eight boutiques and gift shops and an 18-hole championship golf course. The property also offers a private beach and marina and pool. Plus, the super-sized buffet “could probably do 2,500 people a day,” Fertitta said.
He stated, “What’s unique about this property is that it’s Las Vegas. People are going to say, ‘Why go there to Vegas and have to get on an airplane when I can jump in my car come down I-10 and have this Las Vegas atmosphere here?'”
