Finland’s RAY: 2014 Was Flat

Raha-automaattiyhdistys, Finland’s slot machine association, reported a 1.9 percent decline in gaming revenues for 2014. RAY says an overall sluggish economy and poor market conditions were behind the drop.

Finnish gaming operator Raha-automaatiyhdistys, familiarly known as RAY, reported no growth in its operations for 2014, reports SBC News. The national, state-owned operator reported a 1.9 percent decline for the year.

“The financial situation in Finland was challenging, which was duly reflected in gaming as well,” said RAY Managing Director Velipekka Nummikoski. “The fact that our results remained as good as they did is thanks to our entire staff, who were quick to adapt to the changes we implemented over the year.”

RAY recorded a revenue decrease of €15 million to €776 million (TK) over 2013. That includes retail gaming, arcade stores and digital gaming.
