Tribal Council Chairperson of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Jamie Stuck, recently announced Kathy George has been named chief executive officer at FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan. Previously George served as general manager and vice president of hotel operations for more than five years.
Her hospitality industry career began with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, where she spent 13 years in all areas of hotel operations, including seven years as a general manager. George also worked for the Seneca Gaming Corporation in New York, where she served in several management roles, including general manager for the Casino and Hotel at Seneca Niagara and the Buffalo Creek Casino.
At FireKeepers Casino Hotel, George has been involved in all operations since the property opened. She managed the construction and opening of the 243-room hotel, which has earned the coveted AAA Four Diamond rating. George also led the sales and catering, environmental services and retail departments, as well as the Quality Inn & Suites located next to the casino.
George serves on the board of directors for the Calhoun County Visitors Bureau and is an active fundraiser for S.A.F.E. Place, the area’s domestic violence shelter. She also has served as the tournament director for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, a stop on the Symetra Tour – Road to The LPGA.

George has a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, where she also served as a 2008 Dean’s Distinguished Lecturer. She was a recipient of Business First’s 40 Under 40 award in 2008.
