The first sportsbook in a Michigan tribal casino cut the ribbon on June 22. Dacy’s Sportsbook opened inside the FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan. The casino re-opened on June 1.
“It seems like everything in the world is happening in stages and sports betting is really no different,” said Jim Wise, vice president of marketing said. “The first stage is on-premise sports betting inside the casino.”
Wise said guests can wager in person or at the self-serving kiosks.
“Right now we have four kiosks, but should have more like 14 come Labor Day,” he said. Either way, expect to social distance and wear face masks, according to Newschannel 3.
“We are going to start with things like NASCAR, golf, MMA, and boxing, until the NBA and MLB return,” Wise said. “Just like our guests, we want the athletes to be safe, but we are excited to bring that to FireKeepers.”
