The MGM Springfield has announced the additions of executives from the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore and the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to its senior staff. Alex Dixon will be general manager and Courtney Wenleder will be vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
MGM Springfield President Michael Mathis made the announcements.
The $950 million casino is looking to open in the city’s South End in the autumn of 2018. Wenleder was chief financial offer at New York-New York while Dixon was vice president and assistant general manager of the Horseshoe Casino.
Mathis said Wenleder would be in charge of strategic financial planning and financial management while Dixon will be responsible for day-to-day leadership and direction, and will also oversee operations.
Mathis added, “They both bring an abundance of industry experience to our resort that is exceeded only by their passion for our vision.”
Mathis also announced other appointments including:
• Arlen Carballo, director of financial planning and analysis, formerly with MGM National Harbor in Maryland
• Meagan Lippmann, learning and development partner, who held a similar position at MGM Resorts International University
• Jason Randall, director of talent acquisition and development, who was previously director of human resources for Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
