Fontainebleau Las Vegas to Open Retail Complex Alongside IR

Fontainebleau Las Vegas to Open Retail Complex Alongside IR

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas has announced plans to develop a two-story, 90,000 square-foot retail shopping complex with over 30 stores, which will open alongside the casino-resort by the end of next year.

In a news release, the casino’s developer Fontainebleau Development said the complex “will be designed with accessibility top of mind,” meaning that it will be connected in some way to the resort itself rather than stand alone. The company said their goal is to build the district in such a way that generates “unprecedented exposure and foot traffic.”

Once completed, the Fontainebleau itself will stand 67 stories tall and offer somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,700 rooms. It will also feature over 500,000 square feet of convention space.

Fontainebleau Development President Brett Mufson said that the resort’s “unique vertical design gives us great creative flexibility when it comes to our retail space.”

Mufson added: “All facets of the resort have been thoughtfully considered with chic, sophisticated, and elegant architectural design and elements that echo the DNA of our brand. By blending different programmatic elements throughout Fontainebleau Las Vegas, rather than keeping them separate, window shopping and billboarding take on a whole new meaning, as our retail partners will capture more business organically, while keeping guests connected to the overall experience.”

While the casino and retail complex aren’t expected to debut until the fourth quarter of 2023, its executive team has started to take shape—former Luxor COO Cliff Atkinson was recently named president of Fontainebleau, and former Penn National Gaming executive Dan Cherry assumed the role of senior vice president of casino operations back in July.
