The Ohio Casino Control Commission awarded a sportsbook license November 2 to the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company, owner of the Hall of Fame Village within the campus of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, in Canton.
The Village and other licensees throughout the state will be able to accept wagers on January 1, 2023, according to CDC Gaming Reports.
The company, which signed a 10-year partnership deal with Rush Street Interactive for retail wagering, also received an online betting license. The Village inked a similar 10 year agreement for online betting with Betr, a firm founded by Joey Levy, a veteran of the gaming industry and boxer Jake Paul.
“We will have the only physical sports book in Stark County and the first dedicated sports micro betting platform via the Betr mobile app, bringing fans and guests a multitude of different and new ways to experience sports entertainment,” said Hall of Fame Village President and CEO Michael Crawford in a statement.
The retail end bears the name BetRivers Sportsbook and can be found in the fan engagement zone promenade.
With the Betr app, consumers can wager on almost every minute of a live event, whether pitches and at-bats, running plays and fairway drives, hook shots and steals.
