Four Winds Construction At Halfway Point

Construction of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians' $400 million, 175,000 square foot Four Winds Casino in South Bend, Indiana recently reached the halfway point. The facility will feature a casino with 1,800 slots, a 500-room hotel, dining options, bars and retail. It created 300 construction jobs and will require 1,200 permanent jobs.

A topping-out ceremony recently was held to mark the halfway point in construction of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds Casino in South Bend, Indiana. The 0 million, 175,000 square foot facility will offer a gaming floor with 1,800 slot machines, plus a 500-room hotel, five restaurants, three bars, players’ lounge, retail and enclosed parking. In addition, the property will include a tribal services hub and nearly four dozen tribal housing units.

Officials said the project has created 300 construction jobs and will require 1,200 permanent employees when completed.

Tribal Chairman John Warren said, “With each stage of our construction timeline, there’s an element of symbolism. Setting this final steel beam in place signifies the completion of a major phase of construction. We’re more than halfway through the process and are on pace to be ready to open in early 2018. It’s truly something to celebrate.”
