The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians announced it will hold a series of job fairs starting July 22 to fill more than 1,200 permanent jobs at its new Four Winds Casino in South Bend, Indiana, set to open in early 2018. Four Winds Casinos Chief Operating Officer Frank Freedman said most of those jobs will be “hospitality-centric” in addition to traditional casino positions.
The project already has created more than 300 temporary construction jobs.
The casino will offer electronic video and slot machines but no table games or card games such as blackjack, poker, craps or roulette since the tribe was not able to negotiate a gaming compact with former Indiana Governor, now Vice President, Mike Pence.
Recently the city of South Bend began work on extending water and sewer lines to the 166-acre casino site.
