With major league U.S. sports back in play, it’s a good time for the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and its Four Winds Casinos in Michigan to initiate new sportsbooks.

Four Winds partnered with Kambi Group to offer the sportsbooks at properties in New Buffalo, Hartford and Dowagiac.

“One of the reasons we partnered with Kambi is to simplify the wagering process through its ‘bring-your-own-device’ program, which will enable guests to use their smartphone to start the betting process,” said Frank Freedman, chief operating officer of Four Winds Casinos.

Guests can use a smartphone camera to scan a QR code to get to the betting website. After making their wagers, bettors receive a new QR code to bring to the sportsbook counter in New Buffalo, or to guest services in Hartford and Dowagiac. The QR code will then be scanned and the bets placed.

Visitors can also bet at one of the 18 kiosks at the New Buffalo location, or one of six kiosks at both the Hartford and Dowagiac casinos, according to Northwest Indiana Times.
