The village board in Oswego, Illinois will vote February 20 on Fox Valley Winery’s request for a video gambling license, allowing it to install five gaming machines. Owner Dick Faltz said the village could receive $12,500-$17,500 in tax revenue from the machines. The winery also wants to extend its hours.

The family owned Fox Valley Winery, founded in 2000, specializes in handcrafted wines. It operates from an 11,000 square foot building as a licensed winery and also offers retail sales, wine tastings, special events and classes.

Village Clerk Tina Touchette said Fox Valley Winery was granted a newly created Class N liquor license in 2015, allowing it to sell wine and offer wine samplings at their location. She noted the owners requested the village modify the winery’s liquor license so they can apply for a video gambling license as part of plans to offer a limited food menu and educational classes for up to 30 guests.
