Foxwoods Launches Free-to-Play Online Gambling

Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino announced a free-to-play gambling platform for smart phones and computers. Connecticut does not allow real-money online wagering, but the casino certainly seems to be preparing should the law change.

Foxwoods Resort Casino has launched an online gambling platform with GameAccount Network to offer free-to-play casino games.

Connecticut, where Foxwoods is located, has not legalized real-money online wagering in the state, but the site does offer the casino some possible revenue.

Players can buy “virtual credits” that help the player advance in the offered games. The credits help players earn reward points that can be used for merchandise at Foxwoods retail stores, restaurants, spas, theaters or hotel.

Foxwoods calls the site FoxPlay.

“Launching the first simulated online casino in the U.S. with our partner GameAccount Network is another way for our guests to enjoy all that Foxwoods gaming has to offer,” Foxwoods CEO Scott Butera said in a statement. “We think this cutting-edge technology will enhance the overall guest experience and allow them to bring the excitement of Foxwoods with them wherever they go.”

FoxPlay has special formats for mobile devices, like Androids or iPhones.

“With the changing landscape of online gaming we are excited to launch FoxPlay with Foxwoods Resort Casino,” GameAccount Network CEO Dermot Smurfit said in a statement. “The FoxPlay online casino will enhance online gamers experience across the world and make them feel like they are playing in a live casino.”
