Foxwoods Now Open, With Few Restrictions

Connecticut’s Mashantucket Pequot Tribe has fully reopened its Foxwoods Resort Casino. The zipline (l.), swimming pools, spa and concert venues all are open. The only requirement is that those not vaccinated wear masks.

Foxwoods Now Open, With Few Restrictions

After more than year of being in various stages of open, Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut is now fully open, including its zipline, concerts and swimming pools.

The only exception to full reopening is that guests who are not fully vaccinated are asked to wear masks.

The Norwich Spa is open again Fridays through Mondays, but the steam ream, sauna and hot tubs are not yet available.

In the process, the casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot tribe, has renamed its two main theaters. The 4,000-seat Grand Theater was redubbed the Premiere Theater and the 1,400-seat Fox Theater is now the Great Cedar Showroom. This was done to dispel confusion and help guests find their destinations, said Monique Sebastian, Foxwoods’ vice president of entertainment and entertainment marketing.

Shows will be returning in June with Dave Chappelle and later with

comic Norm MacDonald, Little River Band and a boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. Masks are still required for shows and there is mandatory Covid testing at the doors.

Due to Covid the casino last year introduced the Foxwood Drive-in. this proved popular and it is returning for a second season.

The HighFlyer Zipline, which launches from the Fox Tower rooftop, is now open on weekends.
