Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has opened an entire floor for what it says is the first casino dedicated to those 55 and older. It will be called the Rainmaker Casino and will be open 10 a.m.-midnight every weekend.
Amenities will include complimentary cocktails for players, a DJ and radio giveaways.
Jason Guyot, Foxwoods interim chief executive officer and SVP of Resort Operations, said in a statement, “As part of our commitment to providing an unmatched experience for our guests, we are thrilled to introduce this new offering for guests ages 55 and older.” He added, “The safety of our loyal patrons has been our number one priority since reopening on June 1, and we are excited to offer them this exclusive experience where they can relax and play in a safe, frequently sanitized environment.”
The seniors-only facility will employ special sanitizing protocols. The development comes after a 6.8 percent slide in slots revenue from August to September due to fewer visitors due to the pandemic.
