French Lottery Operator Launches Online Poker

French lottery operator Française des Jeux (FDJ) announced the launch of a new online poker offering, the business’ first foray into the genre, live as of November 9.

FDJ’s first poker game in this range is Jackpot Sit & Go, which is now available in the ParionsSport en ligne mobile app. This new online poker range is part of the group’s strategy to bolster its presence in the French market for online games open to competition.

“We’re pleased to offer our players a new range of games,” said Richard Courtois, head of sports betting and poker at FDJ Group. “They’ll be able to use the ParionsSport en ligne app to enjoy a recreational poker range that is designed for all types of players. This move enables FDJ to round out our presence in the online gaming market, in line with our strategy focusing on growth and ongoing innovation, based on a business model that combines performance and responsibility to keep gaming fun.”

FDJ has joined Playtech’s iPoker network, which features one of the largest communities of online poker players. In early 2023, FDJ’s range will be expanded to include all online poker formats approved by the French National Gambling Authority (ANJ). Players will be able to choose from a variety of poker formats including Sit & Go, Jackpot Sit & Go, cash games and multi-table tournaments.

This range will also soon be available via other channels such as dedicated poker applications, downloadable software and the ParionsSport en ligne website.
