The notorious Tao Pun gambling house, in the Bang Sue area of Bangkok, has been raided and closed down.
To keep it from reopening for operations, Bangkok Police Colonel Seehant Prayoonrat and the Anti Money Laundering Office have announced plans to redevelop the premises as a police substation and public service center, according to the Samui Times.
The Bangkok Post reported that Tao Pun has been raided on four previous occasions, albeit without any arrests. The newspaper also reported that the property is owned by an unnamed “influential figure.”
