Shareholders of regional operator Full House Resort approved the election last week of Carl Braunlich as the new chairman of the board, according to a filing by the company with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as reported by CDC Gaming Reports.
Braunlich is currently an associate professor at the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. His background in academia includes full-time faculty positions at Cornell University and Purdue University.
Braunlich replaces Bradley Tirpak, who has been a board member and chairman since 2014. Tirpak will remain on the company’s board.
Braunlich holds both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in hotel administration from Cornell and a doctorate in business administration from United States International University in San Diego. HE has worked in the hospitality industry, directing food and beverage operations in the Bahamas and Atlantic City, and working with the opening teams of Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas. He also was design consultant for responsible gaming strategies for Caesars Entertainment.
