Partnership is money in the bank for Fung

Hong Kong business magnate Tony Fung will have some help developing a planned casino resort on the Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland, Australia.

According to the Asia Gaming Brief and local media, Fung’s alliance with Chinese developer Tandellen and CCCC International Holding Ltd. will mean ample financing for the proposed $8.15 billion Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort. The blueprint includes a hotel complex with 7,500 rooms, a convention and exhibition center, theatres, a golf course, an artificial lake and a lagoon, reported AGB.

“Together we have the financial and operational capacity to undertake multiple projects in multiple locations,” said an Aquis spokesperson. “Our focus will remain on the tourist destinations of Cairns and Gold Coast, and we look forward to making further announcements in the future.”
