G2E Asia Adds Art, Bi-Level Exhibits

The G2E Asia arm of the Global Gaming Expo trade show will feature several new additions for its 2019 event, slated for May 21-23 at Venetian Macao. The new features include an exhibit of art for sale or lease to integrated casino resorts (IRs) looking for design elements; special bi-level exhibit space and a show segment on financial technology, or fintech.

“G2E Asia right now is moving into areas that are more IR-driven, said Josephine Lee, chief operating officer of Reed Exhibitions China, producer of the show along with the American Gaming Association, in an interview with GGR Asia. “Without gaming there is no non-gaming” in the IR context.

Lee said the art exhibits are in response to customer demand. “We hope we can bring the hotels—IRs—to come in and buy nice art pieces… It is not only the displaying of art, but art business, leasing, commissioning of art. Nowadays, a number of hotels are not only buying (art) but also leasing.

“We launched this because of the survey we have conducted with a number of IR properties and presidents. There are a lot of new hotels with design elements in them, and they also want to give a very special experience to the audience.”

G2E Asia this year will feature bi-level exhibitor space stretching to 34,000 square meters and able to accommodate an anticipated 18,000 visitors.

According to organizers, there will also be an “Esports Connect Asia” platform, serving to facilitate networking and business engagement in the fast-growing sector, as well as an Asia Lottery Forum led by industry leaders to shed light on current and future lottery trends and solutions for the internet era.
