The organizers of this years’ Global Gaming Expo Asia trade how, to be held at Venetian Macao May 19-21, announced that this year’s show will include a pavilion dedicated to casino nightlife offerings, presented in partnership with the Macau International Clubbing Show (MICS).
It’s part of an increased emphasis on non-gaming attractions for G2E Asia, following the recent trend of declining gaming revenues in Macau.
“Entertainment has become an increasingly significant feature in the gaming industry,” said Josephine Lee, senior vice president of G2E Asia organizer Reed Exhibitions. “This is the first year G2E Asia is bringing suppliers and high-profile brands from the international clubbing scene to the gaming industry.”
MICS features bar equipment, sound and light, event management, design, beverages and new technologies, and has participants from 31 countries.
Conferences on how the DJ profession has been evolving, and how social media such as Facebook has become the core of communication for nightlife establishments, and what will equip clubs of tomorrow will take place during the expo.
Reed Exhibition Senior Marketing Director Lisa Moi told Macau Business Daily that this year’s highlights include iGaming, where 20 iGaming exhibitors will be presented and a summit on the topic will be held on 21 May.
In the IT and business solutions sector, some internationally acclaimed brands such as IBM will also be joining, with One2One summit, where suppliers will be connected with pre-qualified key purchasing decision makers in the region, considered to help with accelerating sales by shortening the sales cycle and an effective way of building business relationships.
Moi added that another highlight of this year’s event is the All Asia Dealer’s Championship, where croupiers will showcase their talents and skills and share their experiences with their peers from other Asian jurisdictions. The event aims to encourage the front staff of the industry and foster their career development.
In addition, an Asia Lottery Forum covering issues of the lottery industry in Asia will be held. A pavilion dedicated to Macau companies is also designed for local brands to showcase them to G2E Asia buyers, who comprise more than 70 percent of international visitors.
Attendees at G2E Asia rose 35 percent in 2014 to 8,233, compared to 6,074 in 2013. Exhibitors rose 13 percent, from 141 to 160.
