G2E Organizers Promise ‘Safe and Productive Show’

The American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions announced last week that the show would go on, but that special attention is being paid to health and safety at this year’s G2E.

G2E Organizers Promise ‘Safe and Productive Show’

Organizers of this year’s Global Gaming Expo, the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, announced that the show will go on. In an open letter to the industry, they said they’re “working hard to deliver a safe and productive show.”

G2E will take place October 5-8 at Las Vegas Sands’ Sands Expo and Convention Center, just east of the Las Vegas Strip. It likely will do so without most of its normally sizable international participation, given the current status of the United States as the deadliest place on Earth for the coronavirus pandemic, which is surging through large parts of the country at record levels.

The Trump administration also has banned travel into the U.S. from China, most of Western Europe, including the United Kingdom, Brazil and other countries.

G2E’s sister show in Macau (G2E Asia) has been postponed twice and is currently slated for December at the convention center at the Venetian Macao, which is operated by Sands China, a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands.

A Philippines version, which debuted last year, is currently scheduled for November 3-4 at the Manila Marriott Hotel at Resorts World Manila, which is operated as a joint venture between Genting Hong Kong and Philippine conglomerate Alliance Global Group.
