The Global Gaming Expo, which will take place October 4-7 at the Venetian Convention & Expo Center, will require proof of Covid-19 vaccination for admittance to the event, according to the show’s producers, the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions (RX).
“Our highest priority for G2E 2021 is providing a safe and productive event for the global gaming industry,” said Meredith Pallante, vice president, global events at the AGA. “We know how important vaccines are to continuing gaming’s strong recovery. Vaccinations are also one more tool to help us safely welcome the industry back to Las Vegas for another fantastic show.”
The new requirement—supported by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers—further aligns G2E with Nevada’s guidance regarding Covid-19 mitigation and reflects the changing state of the pandemic across the country.
“We know how enthusiastic the gaming community is about G2E 2021 and we also understand the importance of hosting an event where everyone feels as safe as possible,” said Korbi Carrison, G2E event director. “We are continuously following government and public health guidance and having data-driven conversations with health and safety experts to guide our decision making. We’re thankful for exhibitors’ and stakeholders’ continued support throughout this process.”
Proof of a Covid-19 vaccine approved by the FDA or authorized for emergency use by the FDA or the World Health Organization will be required for all exhibitors, attendees, speakers, media, and AGA and RX staff. More details on the updated policy are available in the Health & Safety Guidelines at the G2E website, globalgamingexpo.com. Verification measures will be available soon.
G2E continues to monitor public health and government guidance and will adjust policies as appropriate leading up to the show. In addition to vaccine verification, G2E has committed to the following health and safety requirements:
- Approved face coverings for all individuals.
- Increased cleaning and sanitization standards that meet or exceed the recommendations of the CDC.
- Updated layout and exhibitor guidelines with capacity management and physical distancing in mind.
Any further updates to G2E 2021’s health and safety policies and procedures will be made available on the G2E site.
G2E 2021 will be the industry’s largest in-person gathering in the Americas since 2019. In conjunction with the in-person program, G2E will continue to offer a robust digital experience for participants unable to travel to Las Vegas or meet the admission requirements.
