David Group also growing in Macau
Galaxy Macau has launched its new premium direct VIP Club, JinMen8 on the 50th floor of the Cotai resort’s Ritz-Carlton hotel.
According to the Macau News Agency, the club also includes dining from Michelin-starred Chef Lai Heen; 200 service and dining staff; a dedicated service manager; transportation by limousine; and priority hotel suite and villa reservations. The staff-to-customer ratio is five to one, reported Inside Asian Gaming.
“The addition of JinMen8 solidifies our position to offer our discerning VIP clients a new level of premium gaming,” said Raymond Yap, Galaxy’s senior director of international premium and mass market development. “Exclusive, bespoke and luxurious, JinMen8’s services, dining and ambiance are a testament to our commitment to provide quality and meet the desires of our best customers. We will continue to uphold Galaxy Macau’s Asian Heart signature offering by providing our distinguished guests luxurious and excellent services as well as innovative and top-quality entertainment experiences.”
Brokerage Sanford C. Bernstein reports that Macau’s VIP revenue in the near term may get a boost from new room openings. According to Asia Gaming Brief, overall GGR in Macau is likely to rise 3 percent to 4 percent in September after disruptions caused by Typhoon Mangkhut.
Bernstein estimated that month-to-date GGR came in at MOP16.6 billion (US$2 billion), with an average daily rate of MOP725 million (US$90 million), 16 percent lower than in August and 1 percent higher than in September 2017.
“This week, VIP volumes may benefit as several junkets will host new room opening/expansion events,” the firm said. Junket investor David Group recently opened a VIP club at Melco Resorts and Entertainment’s Morpheus and also plans to open rooms at MGM Cotai this year.
