Gamblit Gaming recently introduced its new eSports platform, G-Sports, which will offer games in casinos via tournaments with cash prizes. The goal is to attract gamers into casinos, which are seeking ways to expand their base beyond older slot players. Gamblit Gaming Chief Marketing Officer Darion Lowenstein said, “Our mission is to bring arcades back to life and bring a new style of game to the casino floor.”
Gamblit’s Gamblit TriStations can be converted to G-Sports stations where players compete against each other. The first game to use the platform, beginning in the second half of 2017, will be Road Redemption, a popular PC and console racing game set in a post-apocalyptic America. Casinos can organize tournaments and other events around the games, which will have a set entry fee. Players compete and are ranked on a leaderboard that is updated in real-time’ top players are rewarded at the end with cash prizes.
Lowenstein commented, “Once people are used to playing these games and putting $20 down, we’ll be able to bring more of the sophisticated games into the TriStations. For now, we want people to feel like they can walk up to a game they don’t know and have a chance to win.”
Ian Fisch, chief executive officer at EQ Games, maker of Road Redemption, said, “We’re really excited about working with Gamblit.” He added, as a hardcore gamer, casinos’ games of “luck” do not interest him. He believes many other gamers share his view and want to play games that require more skill or remind them of arcade games.
