GameCo Licenses Paramount Titles

GameCo has signed an agreement with Paramount Pictures to license Mission: Impossible, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Paranormal Activity for a new line of skill-based slot machines to go along with its debut game, Danger Arena (l.).

GameCo, Inc., the New York-based startup company that recently introduced skill-based gaming machines to the industry in New Jersey with its Danger Arena arcade-style shooting game, announced that it has signed an agreement with Paramount Pictures to license three Paramount titles for new gambling machines.

GameCo will produce games based on the popular Paramount films Mission: Impossible and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and the ghost-phenomenon TV series Paranormal Activity.

All three titles will be used to create new skill-based gaming experiences on the company’s Video Game Gambling Machine, or VGM. The company will use the Mission: Impossible license to create a racing game, according to the License.biz website. For Ferris, the company plans a so-called platformer game—a style in which players manipulate a character across platforms, floors, ledges, etc. For Paranormal Activity, the company will create a game themed around hidden objects, according to the website.

“We are always seeking ways to bring our iconic film properties directly to fans,” said LeeAnne Stables, president of worldwide marketing partnerships and licensing for Paramount Pictures, according to the website. “These new products bring them to life in classic arcade game-play formats.”

Rich Maryyanek, head of global business development at GameCo, added, “Each of these properties has a very unique appeal and heritage associated. We are thrilled to work with Paramount and look forward to developing a casino experience that will appeal to gamers of all ages.”
