GameCo Licenses Skill Game

GameCo, Inc. has licensed a skill-based video game from publisher 505 Games for release to casinos as a video gaming machine.

Las Vegas-based supplier GameCo, Inc. announced that it has licensed the first game for its video game gambling machine (VGM)—a skill-based, first-person action engine from game publisher 505 Games. It offers gamblers a 45 second skill-based experience, delivering the same return to players as traditional slot machines, according to the company.

505 Games is a multi-platform interactive video game company that publishes popular game titles around the world for players of all ages to enjoy on leading console, PC, mobile and social platforms. GameCo is in the licensing process in New Jersey to launch the VGM, and is planning to debut on casino floors in Atlantic City this year.

Future VGM games will be familiar titles from other top publishers including first person action, sports, racing, fighting games, platformers, puzzle games and more.

“GameCo is at the forefront of revolutionizing casino floors with skill-based gaming, and we are excited to be part of the movement,” said Justin Berenbaum, vice president of business development and strategic relations for 505 Games. “Our mission to set precedents aligns with GameCo, and we are eager to synergize our talents in an effort to attract new audiences to casino gaming.”

“We are very pleased to partner with 505 Games on the first-ever video-game gambling machines and skill-based games,” said Blaine Graboyes, CEO of GameCo. “Justin and 505 Games have proven to be innovators and leaders in the video game industry, and their trust with GameCo in licensing their property is very meaningful. At GameCo, we’re gamers and game producers who are committed to uniting the video game and casino worlds.”

GameCo’s mission is “to bring the next generation of casino players to gaming designations worldwide,” the company said, noting in a press release that the company “envisions that in the future, major gaming properties will have a ‘Video Game Casino,’ a dedicated section of the casino floor with hundreds of VGMs for gamers to gamble playing skill-based video games, while operators host eSports events, tournaments and game publisher promotions that will assist casinos in engaging a new audience of Gen X and millennial gamers.”
