GameCo Places VGMs at Foxwoods

GameCo announced it has completed the installation of six of its skill-based Video Game Gambling Machines at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

GameCo, Inc. announced that it recently installed six of its skill-based Video Game Gambling Machines, or VGMs, at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino. The placement marks GameCo’s move into its second gaming jurisdiction in the U.S., as well as the company’s introduction to tribal gaming for its skill-based gaming offerings.

The VGMs installed at Foxwoods Resort Casino feature GameCo’s initial titles, Pharaoh’s Secret Temple and Nothin’ but Net, on two triple-unit VGM carousels in high-traffic, prominent locations in the Fox Tower casino.

In Pharaoh’s Secret Temple, a Match3 game, players embark on an adventure to unlock the riches of the Pharaoh’s Secret Temple by matching gems to collect rare treasures before their time is up. Appealing to casual gamers and current slot players, this casual video game features boosts, power-up prizes, charms and Egyptian-themed traps.

Nothin’ but Net lets players hit the basketball courts with 16 shots to win cash. Players’ virtual skill in making layups, jump shots, free throws and half court bombs is challenged in the fast-paced game, which also includes bonus money balls.

“Skill-based slot machine technology is the next generation of gaming, and we welcome this addition to our already industry-leading resort casino experience,” said Felix Rappaport, Foxwoods Resort Casino president and CEO. “This partnership with GameCo is just another example of our commitment to provide our loyal guests new and exciting reasons to visit Foxwoods.”

“We are very pleased to be expanding the world’s first skill-based gaming offerings to the Connecticut market with Foxwoods Resort Casino, as they have embraced the opportunity to bring a new type of gaming entertainment to their guests,” said Blaine Graboyes, co-founder and CEO of GameCo. “As casino gaming continues to evolve and appeal to a new generation of players, we are focused on strategically aligning with casino partners such as Foxwoods who share our vision of combining the entertainment, engagement and excitement of video games, eSports and gambling to create a new type of destination for current and future casino customers.

“In addition to current slot players, the target demographic for our innovative VGMs includes approximately 23 million gamers who are over 21, represent the top percentile of household income, play video games, and are already visiting casinos.”

GameCo introduced its first VGMs at Caesars’ Atlantic City properties in November, followed by placement at the Atlantic City Tropicana. The company’s proprietary video game gambling platform has been certified by Gaming Laboratories International under the GLI-11 v 2.1 standard, providing a path to market in most jurisdictions that currently operate electronic poker or blackjack machines.

GameCo is undertaking a major nationwide rollout, with plans to be operational in most major U.S. gambling jurisdictions by the end of 2017.
