Gaming Counsel Moran Joins Vegas Firm

John T. (JT) Moran III has joined the Las Vegas of the Clark Hill law firm as senior counsel in the litigation group. Moran represents clients in the gaming industry in the United States and internationally.

With nearly 20 years of legal experience, Moran has represented many premier gaming, finance and infrastructure companies, handling licensing matters and all aspects of regulatory compliance.

“JT will be a key connector for Clark Hill in Las Vegas as the firm expands its Gaming Industry Initiative,” said Kaveri Subbarao, litigation business unit director. “Las Vegas is a unique business environment, and the Moran family goes back four generations. JT knows the people, the Courts and most importantly how business is done, the Vegas way. Our clients and the firm will benefit greatly from his insider’s perspective.”

Moran represents private and government clients before various state and local government agencies, including the Nevada legislature, city councils, county commissions, state gaming agencies and various other political subdivisions, including lobbying and administrative hearings.

He focuses his practice on gaming operations and regulatory matters, including those related to land-based gaming, iGaming and the manufacture and distribution of gaming equipment.

“The national and global gaming companies that I represent need the full range of services that a global firm like Clark Hill offers,” Moran said. “With the explosion in Internet gaming, as well as the expansion of brick and mortar gaming across the country, the opportunity to be the one-stop shop for gaming clients is what the combination of Moran and Clark Hill offers clients.”

Moran is currently serving a six-year term on Nevada’s Board of Regents, and is the former gubernatorial appointee and chairman of the Nevada Commission on Ethics. He previously served as Judge Pro Tempore in the city of Henderson from 2004 to 2008. His father, John Moran Jr., is chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission and its longest-tenured member.
