Gaming Industry Gave $367 Million to Charity

The D.C.-based American Gaming Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Corporate Citizenship Center announced last week that in 2018 the U.S. gaming industry gave $367 million to charity.

This is the first time that such a report has been issued.

The report also found that 93 percent of gaming companies have recycling and energy efficiency programs, which is 50 percent higher than the private sector as a whole.

It reported that 69 percent of gaming companies have company-sponsored diversity and inclusive hiring efforts.

Employees of gaming companies contributed more than 422,000 volunteer hours.

The study also found that ALL of the AGA’s member companies have a responsible gaming policy.

AGA CEO Bill Miller said the study shows the industry is striving successfully to be responsible community partners and to contribute to their communities.

He said in a statement, “Above all else, the gaming industry’s highest priority is to promote responsibility in all that we do, from being constructive partners in the communities where we operate, providing exceptional career opportunities to industry employees and ensuring all patrons have the tools they need to engage in our offerings in a responsible manner.”
